Arc and Leo Burnett Replicate Best-in-Class Mother’s Lounge for 3% Conference

Two days, two rooms and real change for mothers. Leo Burnett and Arc sponsor and design pop-up Mother’s Lounge for the 2018 3% Conference.

We know mothers are the foundation for inspiration, creativity and innovation. That’s why Arc’s Retail Design Group (RDG) and Leo Burnett Chicago are building a pop-up Mother’s Lounge for this year’s 3% Conference. The space, complete with two cozy, private nursing rooms, is based on Leo Burnett Group’s very own Mother’s Lounge, which ranked No. 1 on Working Mother’s 2018 list of The 18 Most Impressive Company Lactation Lounges in the U.S. From researching logistics, to designing, and then building, we’ve ensured our Mother’s Lounge serves working parents in an unprecedented way.

“Because of what it does to attract and retain female talent, I’m enormously proud to have helped build Leo Burnett Mother’s Lounge. In an industry like advertising, cramped closets shouldn’t be the norm,” said Alma Klein, VP Creative Director, Arc. “I would love to see agencies around the world apply their creative talents to meeting the needs of new parents. The return to work after having a baby is a vulnerable time in a woman’s career, and supporting her for that first year back pays dividends.”

The Lounge that RDG is building for the 3% Conference gives moms in attendance the same levels of privacy, comfort, and convenience that the agency’s employees enjoy–replicating its features down to the same furniture and finishes to make sure no amenity is spared.

“No more closets, shared spaces, or temporary feeling solves; we are working hard to make Leo’s lounge the norm, showing moms from all over the country that this is how pumping should be,” says Kylie Wendell, Art Director, Arc Retail Design Group.

Beyond bringing our Lounge, our people and our leadership to 3%, LBG is bringing our commitment to conversations of equality, diversity, and inclusion to Create Greater Than. “[The goal of] Create Greater Than is to help kick-start the conversations that create change. And change—real change—is what the 3% Conference, and our industry, is all about,” said Andrew Swinand, Leo Burnett Group North America, CEO.

The pop-up Mother’s Lounge will be unveiled and available to new parents during the 3% Conference on Nov. 8-9, creating a mom-ent to remember.
